Jammu, Apr 13 (KNO): General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Army’s White Knight Corps Lieutenant General Prasanna Kishore Mishra along with GOC of Cross Swords Division on Monday visited the Akhnoor sector of the Line of Control to review operational preparedness.
Nagrota-based White Knight Corps, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). wrote on X: “GOC White Knight Corps, along with GOC Crossed Swords Division, visited the general area of Akhnoor to review the operational preparedness and prevailing security grid. The visit focused on the assessment of counter-infiltration measures, the integration of new-generation equipment, and overall operational synergy.”
“The GOC commended the formation for induction and integration of niche technologies and exhorted all ranks to sustain a robust, agile and responsive counter-infiltration posture. The Knight Stands Vigilant… We Serve, We Protect!” the post read.
Pertinently, the Army guards the 740-km-long Line of Control in Jammu, Poonch, and Rajouri districts in Jammu division, and Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora districts in Kashmir division.
The Army is deployed to prevent infiltration, exfiltration, smuggling and drone activities initiated from across the LoC by terror outfits with the assistance of Pakistan.
An official said, “These drones are used to drop payloads of arms, ammunition, cash and drugs on the Indian side. Overground workers of terrorist groups pick up these payloads and pass them on to the terrorists to sustain terrorism in J&K.”
“The duties of preventing infiltration, exfiltration, smuggling, and drone activities are carried out by the Border Security Force along the 240-km-long international border in J&K,” he added.
The international border is situated in Samba and Kathua districts, and partly in the Jammu district—(KNO)
